There’s nothing like the feeling of paddling your boat in a place you’ve never been before. We paddled the south fork of the St. Lucie River last week for the first time. Though it was a short trip, it was well worth the drive. The St. Lucie is a seven mile long coastal river that flows through St. Lucie and Martin Counties. The South Fork passes through Palm City. The water depth is affected by the tides so if you choose to go here, check the tide tables because if you catch it when the tide is going out, you can run out of water quickly and obstacles that earlier were nonexistent will then block your path.
The trip began in a neighborhood where it was fairly wide.
But soon we left civilization and the river became more wild.
And it began to narrow.
With lots of alligators and turtles.
It was natural raw Florida.
We hope you have enjoyed this trip on the St. Lucie with us. If you have paddled this, let us know in the comments section. If you would like to join our group for future trips, contact Jaucque.

We woke up to a freeze this morning, so it was great to see your post of a paddle in the warm FL weather. Great pictures.

I forgot the exact location, but it was at a park near Interstate 95 in Fort Pierce. I will try to get the exact information for you.
