Blackwater Creek from Seminole State Forest to Wekiva River

If you ever want to get away from civilization and paddle in peace and quiet, then Blackwater Creek is the place for you. Blackwater is just as it name implies, a dark water (tannic) creek where water visibility is virtually impossible. But, that is not the reason you would want to visit. The reason is because it gets virtually no traffic and you can have the creek to your self. Just you and nature. We put in near the Bear Pond Trailhead and paddled 5 miles to the Wekiva River, then upstream another 5 to Katie’s Landing. To launch here you are required to get a State Forrest Use Permit and a gate code which will get you in. (Contact #352-360-6675)

Blackwater is a beautiful place to paddle filled with natural Florida beauty. If you have been there, let us know in the comments.
